Monta is a boy who wants to be the hero of catching players in the baseball in Eyeshield 21 Anime, so he has exercised since he was little. He almost knows nothing of baseball except for catching so that he is kicked out of baseball club.
In Eyeshield 21 Episode 9, the Mao Devil Bats is looking for a player who is good at catching ball. Sena meets Monta on the way to school and knows that Monta catches ball easily. American football is different from baseball. For example, Monta is only skilled at catching ball and he can’t be the hero in the baseball but can be in the American football. What is more, Sena says to Monta that their team needs him, which moves Monta. So far, the team owns four members.
